Hi everyone!

I went to my local sale barn and ended up buying some chickens to start a flock again. Two of the ones I got are Easter Eggers, but the other two are a mystery. They've got dark black faces, combs and legs. They're gold and black, but don't have the face tufts of an EE or the pookie bits to be part Silkie. IMG_20190723_205935.jpg IMG_20190723_205847.jpg

Any opinions? Someone at the sale mentioned they might be black sex links, but I'm not sure.

Thank you!

Sorry to revive this dead thread, but now that they're getting older, their wattles are turning red. Their combs are still black, though! Could they be low quality, hatchery Campine?

I'm wondering if they are non-bearded Easter Eggers. Being hatchery birds its unlikely they are crossbreds "but not impossible". They are to heavily built for Campines, pattern is off too.

This my pullet. She looks similar to a campine but she is just a backyard mix from a persumed EE mother. I think she is pretty though like yours!

What a little beauty!! They definitely are VERY similar! I noticed though your girl has a (I think) pea comb. Mine have the pointed combs so far. They're very big birds, too. Campines look like a medium fowl and these two are almost the size of a New Hampshire Red.
