I see online that black Plymouth rocks exist……but can you buy them in the USA?

Apparently not. The Black Rock is a Scottish breed and can only be bought from one Scottish breeder.Anything else is something else.

You can try to breed your own eith partridge rock crossed with Bared rock hen

If you want pure black Plymouth rocks an easy way would be the get some blue Plymouth rocks and breed them together and roughly 25% of the chicks should hatch out pure black. Then breed those blacks together and all the chicks will be black or cross them back to a blue Plymouth rock and 50% will hatch out black. I bought some eggs on Ebay from a mixed flock of barred/blue/white Plymouth rocks, and I got 1 pure black chick out of it.

Is the blue rock purebred? I see hybrids called blue rock
