They use chickens as a model. So I would assume it would have the same results.
Not necessarily.

The ultraviolet lamp is for finding skin irregularities and disorders including vitiligo. In humans.
Chicken skin under the feathers generally doesn't have melanin (Fibro is an exception) so the unpigmented areas wouldn't look different under ultraviolet light.

But, still though. I don't think it's Vitiligo. I have a hen that is getting darker(More Black), rather then getting white, the opposite of the other's.
She's full blooded sister of the Roosters.

She's seen in the pictures with the roosters. The dark brown partridge hen.
Went through a molt 3 months ago, & going through another.

I play around with their nutrition, & it actually effects the intensity of the color changes.

And who can say barring wouldn't do that to vitligo when the birds they have with vitiligo don't have barring? No doubt you have discovered a de novo mutation but I don't think you can rule vitiligo out with that evidence?
A better question is do they have funky issues? Because that is definitely a trait of vitiligo.

Terrible Lighting(From old Phone), but you can see there's no black spots.

I've actually read on Vitiligo in chickens in my research, in figuring this out actually.

Can you define funky issues?
