Blood ring?

Hi all.

Is this a blood ring? There's no movement. I candled it again after I went through all the other eggs and no reaction to the light.

Thanks. Second incubate so I'm still working out what these look like.

It probably died, but it appears to have veins still. I'd mark it with a pencil and put it back in to check the next time. It's hard for us to judge as a picture distorts it, especially color.

Looks suspicious, but I'd put it back and check again in a few days. On out current hatch we had one or two eggs we thought had blood rings on day 7 but were alive and kicking on day 13.

It's more developed than when I checked last (day 9 or 10) and this is what it looks like day 12 (tonight). I did mark it so I guess I can check again in a couple of days.

Are there any broken blood vessels? That does look a lot like a blood ring.

This was mine yesterday (day 14). No more development than on day ten, no movement, and I started seeing broken blood vessels in the middle of the darker section and the other half of the egg candled clear, so it wasn't filling out the egg anymore. I discarded it.

Blood rings are fairly rare, both your eggs are dead and you’ve correctly identified the blood ring and lack thereof, sad to lose eggs but good learning experience.

Not that I can/could see from the outside. In fact, I could hardly see any vessels at all.
Also, this morning the ring looked quite a bit darker... So I went ahead and removed the egg and opened it.... *sigh*...
There were indeed hardly any blood vessels, and an anemic and obviously lifeless little embryo. (No particular odour.)

Its sad, but that's really best case scenario with a blood ring and dead partially developed chick.
