Bobcat got 2 of our chickens despite electric fence!

You should make this info into an article. 😊

Thanks for your reply! So what do you think about a 4ft electric fence on the bottom and a 4ft deer fence on the top to prevent jumping predators? Haven’t had issues with birds so far!
I suggest you invest in an electric fence to stop them from jumping over the fence and cover it with heavy netting similar to cmom to keep out aerial predators (this what I use on top of mine!)

I personally haven't had any issues with any predators trying to jump over my fences but I do have good heavy duty netting covering all of my pens as well the electric wires around the coops and pens with a powerful fence charger. I also grounded my fence so if anything that should try to climb it will get zapped because most likely it would also touch the hot wires which are around a foot away from the fence. I posted a picture of my electric wires in a previous post. The electric wires go completely around. I have had some predators try to dig under the fence but once they touch the hot wires and have been zapped they have aborted their attempts and don't try again. In fact they avoid the pens and I believe the the adult predators teach their young that whatever is on the other side isn't worth getting zapped for.

Good gracious! I see why some people have to trap predators! Wow!
