Brinsea 24 egg quadrant turning troubles

@Waterfaery -

This seems like an outstanding fix!! Has it continued to work for you?

Would you mind sharing how wide the cardboard "track" is? It looks like 7cm(?)...it looks like we have the same incubator (Maxi 24 EX)...and I have eggs arriving on Wednesday.

Also - does it seem to be a problem that the inner eggs don't seem to rotate as far as the outside ones?

Thanks for your time!
Yes! It has continued to work. I never use it without it.

I'm just up and going out today but I'll measure it later when I'm back and let you know the exact dimensions. Give it a good test before you put your good eggs in. The size of the eggs you have might affect it as well so you may need to adjust yours.

The manual mentions that issue about the inner and outer eggs turning at different amounts so give that a read. If you make sure the inner eggs turn the minimum amount at least, it will be ok for the outer ones to turn a bit further.

Thanks SO much! I really appreciate it!

Yes, I read Brinsea's manual and saw that 90 degree turn is good - but - they are selling a product, and I wanted to verify that info from those of you who have more experience than me. I haven't hatched anything in nearly 10 years...I actually think I may have preferred the old Octagon with a rocker - it was fairly idiot-proof, LOL!!

Could I impose on you to maybe find a link on Amazon for the grippy stuff? I'm heading out to the store and want to get as close to what you have as I can...and then work on it with some store eggs I purchased yesterday...

Thank you, again!

No problem.

The cardboard ring is 6cm wide and the circle cut out in the middle is 11.5cm in diameter.

I try not to buy from Amazon but this is the sort of thing I have so hopefully you can find something similar where you are.

Yes, please do test it thoroughly before using it! I hope it works out for you. I'd love to hear how you get on.
