Brookhaven NY Ordinances need updating on this site

Hey there! Just reading the chicken laws entry for my town and it looks like it's missing a critical detail. The code says you ALSO have to build any housing for poultry at least 50 feet from all property lines. Most lots in this town are simply too small to meet that requirement. If you don't have say a half acre or more, chickens are still illegal for you. Personally, I decided it was worth it to keep them illegally. I have my coop as far from neighbors as I could and made the roofline lower than the privacy fences we all have up so if I'm doing this right no one will ever know I have them

I live in Shirley and got solar panels, the inspector wrote i had a chicken coop without a permit and i went today and found out it has to be 50 feet from property which is not possible so will have to get rid of my chickens.... I am so pissed!!! no where does it say this.
