My flock was attacked by a swarm of buffalo gnats it was HORRIFIC. All my pullets seem to be doing ok except for one who got the worst of it. I mean hundreds of these things eating her alive in her eyes, nose, and body. The attack happened yesterday at sunset now about 11 hours later she’s doing poorly and acting lethargic.

what can I do to help her? :(

I lost a hen a few years ago to buffalo gnats. I am so sorry for you and your flock having to deal with them.

Your girl is probably miserable and maybe itchy from the bites. For people, at least, it's recommended that you apply cool compresses and try antihistamines. I have no idea if that works for chickens, but when I'm desperate, I try anything that MIGHT work.

Let us know how she does. To discourage more gnats, folks around here used vanilla and vanilla sprays, along with running fans to blow the gnats away from the birds. I spent a bundle on vanilla, and I'm not sure it worked, but at least I felt like I was doing something to help.

I got 3 bites today. And eye swelled shut and I'm running a fever. They are horrible
