Bumblefoot and drawing salve?

I know this is an old post but I was wondering if the original poster might still be willing to share their drawing salve recipe?
Or does anyone else has a recipe for it?
I’m having a hard time finding it in Canada but I’ll be checking the local farm store after thanksgiving

I have never had bumblefoot but have been reading alot about it. For you old-timers (no offense) out there, has anyone ever tried a drawing salve? I grew up with a home-made drawing salve (recipe passed down for generations) that I think would be perfect for this problem. For those of you who are not familiar with a drawing salve/black salve, it "draws" out any foreign object in the body... ie. splinter, infection, bee sting or bug bite poison, glass sliver, cat-fish spine, etc., etc.

Opinion, anyone?
I don't know for sure people are using it for bumble foot and are saying it has worked well by cleaning and soaking the foot and applying the salve and bandaging the foot for a few days. Would love to have your recipe if you are willing to share.

I remember black salve my mo used on me and sisters and it smelled like tar to me and came in a silver tube. Is that what you all are talking about? I cannot remember when she would use black salve instead of mercurochrome…that stuff stung and turned your skin pink, I just remember them both. We wanted her to us bactine which was not to sting but she said it cost to much. LOL. I and working on putting a medical kit for our chickens and this has been put on it. Never dealt with bumble foot with our previous flock but want tot be prepared.

We couldn’t afford bactine either! So every time I fell and skinned a knee—quite the common occurrence—Mom would have to blow on my wounds as she applied the merthiolate. Man, that stuff burns, but it sure helped speed the healing.
