I started to worry when my buttercup chick’s comb was getting pink last week. This week it is more pink and although buttercup males and females are coloured differently, it is getting red feathers.

The other pullet is the same age and looks similar but is actually a campine.

Is the buttercup a cockerel?

Well I guess I can now rehome him with one of the polish (hopefully) pullets. Can’t tell them apart so we call them Pickles 1 and 2. I like having each bird a different kind.

I'm the same way, having a multicolored flock is fun, gives me different egg colors, and makes it easier to keep track of who is laying, sick etc.
