Buying land and a double wide

My husband and I have 3 kids and own a home in Aurora Colorado. He has been working about 45 minutes north of us and we are planning on moving closer to that location. We have NO space here so it would be great. I saw that there are loans for buying double wide or manufactured homes but I guess I am confused on how the process works. We buy the land and then purchase the home? Where do we start?! Clearly, the location also has to have space for our family and pets! any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Kind of hard to answer those questions. I would either look at online real estate properties in the area you are wanting, or contact a realtor there. You probably want to buy the land and the property together, I would guess. Realtor might be able to come up with something already set up for what you want. I would also contact a mortgage lender and get prequalified to see what you can afford to buy.

i would suggest you look into it or ask your city housing department for some assistance if they have any available

when i bought my house i used Nolo (not to buy a mobile home though).. but nolo is pretty useful

going through the links and the videos.. i think you will have at least the basics to decide

in my opinion.. instead of just letting someone lead you around.. do your own homework and know more about it

remember.. real estate agent's main goal is to sell house and make the commission.. same for lenders.. i doubt they would have your best interests at heart..

so do your homework and don't be lured into buying/selling

Looking for bargain mobile homes? Check out the GSA auction site. They sometimes sell FEMA mobile homes for at bargain rate. Most have never been lived in, but for some reason, the US Government is dumping them. They sometimes are sold in blocks for amounts of about $800 each. When they appear on the mobile home sales lot, they are marked up to about $20,000 a piece.

Why? I don't know. If they were not good enough for FEMA, why are they good enough for the purchasing public?
