I kinda want to go for the camera that pans but I am worried the dust and dirt in air from the chickens scratching will ruin the ability of this camera to turn. Is it worth it? Has anyone used the pan model for a long time in their coop? Also did anyone buy the extra mounting units? All and all Im just wondering if everyone who has these cameras still like them. I read a few posts from last year and everyone seemed to love them but I'd like to know if everyone still likes their camera set up now that a year or so has past. Thanks

I've only had mine installed since last May but I still like them. I did not get the pan model. I find that the stationary ones do what I want them to do.

There is also an option to activate the speaker in the camera which is handy when you are remote and guiding someone through an activity while watching them on the camera. It was also funny one time when I talked to the chickens through the speaker. Once. It scared the crap out of them and I regretted it after the reaction died down. I don't know how they'd like hearing the motor driving the pan option. Maybe they'd get used to it after a while.

You can manually record:

Or set the camera to record motion during specified times:

The funny stuff is happening in the back of the run between a pullet and the new cockerel.

I always wondered how chickens would react if spoken to through a camera (I set my speaker to off but I'm sure it could accidentally get toggled on if I wasn't paying attention). I was tempted to try it but didn't want to see them all freaking out.

My guess is they'd get used to the motor sound after a while, especially if you were to use it at specific times of the day. I'd expect to see a lot of glaring, glowing eyeballs if you use it at night though.

I've had the basic square models with mounting units. I have one under the coop viewing the run and the other inside the coop. They work well and have had no issues.

I got two Wyze cameras and installed them on Sunday. I love them. The night vision thing is so cool. Seeing them roosting and jostling for the best spot. Its only been a few days but the picture is really nice. Thanks for all the feedback :)
