Yes I noted that. I dreamed I was trying to buy a polish hen, and there was a lovely bantam Cochin Roo with her. And a bunch of babies not theirs but some other variety. I awoke though, so guess I didn’t buy them!
That's too bad. You need more polish.

One of the legbars is very weak. I cleaned it's butt yesterday because it was pasty, and I've been periodically taking it from under the heater to get a drink and offer food. Might make it a little pouch and tuck it in my shirt so I can keep an eye on it.
First though, my outside birds need food and water refilled!

Edit: the chick passed away while I was outside. Poor baby

Had two hawks wheeling about on Friday afternoon. Likely checking out my place. I didn’t have the chooks out at that time, I just returned home from work.

Yesterday it was crazy windy and all I saw was the neighbours turkey vultures. It was interesting watching them come into a landing in the high wind - they would tuck their wings close to their body and drop down smooth and easy for a lovely touchdown. Truly wonderful aerial creatures.

Meanwhile I was being blown off the step ladder while trying to prune the fruit trees!
I’m jealous

Aww, I'm sorry. Was that one of your new ones?

Marble just watched me filling up the food and water. He was especially interested when I filled the grit feeder. 20250427_094202.jpg
Tidbitting grit to the chicks

Narcissus/daffodils. This is where I buried the chicklet.

Sorry to hear this, they are so fragile that first week or so. It’s a wonder any of them survive. Is it easy to pop back to the store to get another?
