BigBoy, BrokenTail... He doesn't have a real name yet lol... Is checking out the nest boxes.

He calls for food, even takes it from my hand for the ladies. It's hit or miss if he dances, but he's not been aggressive in his attempts. If they run, he doesn't chase. We're watching closely and I think he still needs growing, but he seems headed in right direction.

I forgot to take pictures but we have some fertilized eggs.

Although it's only been a week and we've been watching Mr.Roo, today I walked him back into time out. Three times he mounted and refused to get off the girls today. He didn't fight me either, just walked right in front of me as I told him to keep going.

He needs to relearn his gentlemanly behaviors.

Set some eggs today. Have 15, am watching closely, have tested turner. When I candle day 5-7 I'll know better if I have duds. But it's a trial and error run.

Have used this incubator before. Kebonnix auto. Humidity is sitting at 46% right now as temperature rises. Had it running for two days prior. (Didn't get enough eggs yesterday)

Turner is still turning most of the way, and I'm not afraid of opening it to manual turn as needed after watching our broody on her nest.

I *cough * added one egg. 16. BJJ, dark olive.

Friday or Saturday I'll hopefully candle and see what I've got... Knowing my luck all 16 are fertilized lol

So, out of the 12 fertile eggs 11 successfully hatched.

We ended up getting water logged-- flooding, all around so weren't able to fix up their pen yet! We have it planned out and all supplies just weather is t cooperating.

Hubby was like. We'll need to replenish our layers... I thought these were food not friends (hahaha lol they will get treated just like our spoiled butts lol)

But... Here they are! Fluffy!! Four hatched Sat 5, the rest Sunday 6.

Thanks! I am trying another batch but it's about 3.5 weeks after cockerel was last out with girls so I have NO idea what ones are fertile.

Put twelve possible ones under a broody, and 5 have developed, others look infertile. And only 3 are fertile in incubator.

That's on me though lol because I was impatient hehehe. But that's how we learn too. All the eggs I cracked to check for fertile I scrambled and froze lol

I was trying to get several to process at once, thus the impatience lol

Me too! They definitely grow on ya! Lol although we had a water spill and now they're not as fluffy lol
