BYC Café

Good Morning All,
Having my coffee now. Is it always so lovely and contented to walk into the kitchen, press that button on the kettle and hear that sound, then come the smell of coffee.....the world is perfect and whole again.❤️
This morning the weather is a bit colder, I can feel the coldness in the air. I love to cook in colder weather because I get to cook in the oven more often, it warms up the house.

Around June, I will start to complaint about how cold the weather is, and wearing too many layers of clothes cause my neck and shoulders pain. 😄

Good morning Cafè. Coffee is ready.

Piper having a serious conversation with Bella explaining how very cute she is and that Bella must acknowledge it. Bella wouldn't even look at her!

Just snow moving here...no more new snow overnight, think it's done for at least a week, but catching up and preparing for the coming thaw.
The 50' run path is all cleared, the coop path tidied up of drift cornices, wood shed access cleared, and got the plowguy out to clear driveway, he's as tired of snow as I am<chuckles>. There's more to do but, I'm sore and feeling puny so relaxing the rest of today.

I quit feeding wild birds when I got chickens. All those songbirds that have been hanging around lately appear to have moved on. Good! Maybe the trapped bird told tales of horror so the rest left too. :gig

You too?!! :love
Best entertainment value per dollar spent this year was on that bag of turkey food.
Last summer a hen showed up with 8 poults. By summers end the flock had grown to 27. Early winter they stopped coming for feed. About two weeks ago a banded hen showed up with a transmitter of some sort affixed to her back. Turns out the game commission is monitoring turkeys in the area. Withing a week of the first sighting the flock had returned but only 22 strong. 4 or 5 of the hens have been banded and are wearing transmitters. Yesterday Short Beard (a young tom who joined the flock late summer) came in with the flock. He, too, has been banded, but no transmitter. They had become quite habituated to me, but now are a bit scared. I'm guessing that somewhere/somehow the flock was netted/banded, and that has rightfully spooked them. One of the non banded hens is slightly lame so she may have been injured during the netting. You're right - they are great to watch.

Good Morning All
Having a nice cup of tea now.

I have the tv on cooking show this make me hungry because it is French cooking at the moment...whole olive, sunrise tomatoes, whole glove of garlic and of course olive oil, I can just simply eat that with a piece of nice crush bread.........any crunchy bread will do.

Have a lovely weekend all.

It's going to warm up here too. I can see all the snow on our road packing down into ice before it gets warm enough to melt.
My road is a busy one, so gets cleaned up pronto.
Glad I got the driveway cleared today, the warmth is showing dirt at least on the slope. Gonna be ice where he had to back blade it in front of the garage.
