This chick was purchased from TSC. It's 11 weeks old. Was sold as a Calico Princess (Purchased 1 Calico Princess and 1 Starlight Green Egger & they looked very similar early on. They're one day apart in age & look very different now at 11 Weeks old). This bird does not act like any cockerels I have/have had but the size and pinkening wattles and comb have me unsure. If it is a Calico Princess, they seem to be bred for high egg production, so is it possible that it's a pullet and that explains the wattles and comb? I'm only in my first year of keeping chickens, so even though I'm not seeing pointy cockerel feathers, it doesn't mean they're not there. What are your thoughts on this bird? I know that I have 3 other cockerels in this flock of 9 birds, as I've witnessed crows from 2 of them and 1 of the Silkies has obvious cockerel comb/wattles/feather/personality, but this bird hasn't exhibited any cockerel signs so far. Thank you so much for your time and input. I appreciate you all so much

The picture, hopefully, will answer your question. While comb/wattle development usually clues into sex it doesn't always work that way. Six weeks ago I was very pleased to see that one of my friizled serama was a cockerel (big comb and wattles). Now he is fully developed and an obvious pullet.

Thank you for the picture and reply. I really appreciate you. Hopefully it's a Calico Princess pullet and all other signs, with exception to the comb and wattles, say Pullet.

I got two Calico Princess pullets at TSC back in late August too. I'm pretty sure they are actually an Easter Egger and a Rudd Ranger but I'm okay with them because they are doing well and very pretty in their own right.

Do yours look anything like the one I posted? I am really enjoying this one

Mine is a darker red than your beauty and she is a burly girl.
Thank you for replying. Although I realize that I have no control over the sex or breed of any of my birds, I still can't help but wonder. This morning I read somewhere that Calico Princess chickens have a greenish tint to their legs and feet. That has eased my mind because this is true for her.
