This is my second time hatching calls. The first time was several years ago, and I cannot remember how long the incubation period was. With googling I have found info saying 23-24 days, 26 days (most common), and 28. My question is, which one is it? Do factors such as the parents genetics, size, etc., come into play here? It's day 26 for my eggs, and none have pipped yet or even made noise. I have snuck out a few eggs to quickly candle, and I can see the ducklings moving around the edge of the air sack. Should I be worried, or should I wait until day 28 before doing the hair pulling?

Thanks!!

Update: I got off work, raced home to check on them, and guess what?! One has a few "mountains" on it, and "the egg" is cheeping madly! I hope the others follow in his shoes.

and go for a long walk?? sit on your hands...clean like the wind...take a nappie..LOL I would worry after the 28 days is up. My little one waited until day 30!

Haha! I have to work shortly, but only for 8 hours. The other time I hatched call eggs, it was from mailed eggs. These eggs are from my birds, so it's a lot more personal! Lol. I'm waaaay overboard excited! But yeah, I kinda figured it would be in the 26-28 day range, was just curious about what others have experienced. Idk how I'm gonna make it these next two days!

try and be outside-projects? hahaha. Mine were under a broody and took FOREVER!!!!! haha good luck keep us posted!

i have found it varys quite a bit with my own eggs. i candle every day once they hit 19 days. i have them internally pip from day 20-23 externally pip 22-26 and hatch 23-26. this is just this year with my own eggs plus it can vary yearto year. my are pet quailty. i think mine tend to hatch a tad early because mY temp is a tad high my runners have been hatching on day 26. but i am useing a still air LG. I
wouldnt pull your hair out until day 28. as long as there is movement you should be fine.

Thanks for the input! I'm thinking they'll probably start today, since there has been a ton of movement. When I put an egg in a cup of warm water, the egg was makin waves. Lol. So they appear to be quite strong.
