Calmest chicken breed?

I'd love to hear votes for the calmest chicken breed you've owned. Bonus if you suggest a breed that has clean legs and feet (not feathered on the legs/feet)

Here why: We've had chickens for 9 years. I like calm because our chickens have a large area to roam (1/2 -1 acre) and the calm breeds stay closer to home and are less easy targets for hawks. Also, in winter they are cooped up in a 30x30 area due to the amount of snow we get and we are all happier without super active chickens. I'm at the point where I hesitate to deviate from American Orpingtons but am thinking of branching out for a couple reasons. Breeds I've owned include:

1. American Orpington (my absolute favorite - beautiful, calm and loving, and decent layers)
2. Easter egger (too active)
3. silkie/easter egger cross (too active)
4. buff brahma bantam (my second favorite, but their feathered feet get wet in winter, they go broody too much, and have scaly leg mite)
5. speckled sussex (too aggressive)
6. red star (too active)
7. English Orpington (I love them, but they get hot in summer with all the feathers and they are a bit timid)

Have you considered Australorps? Ours was very sweet, calm and quiet. Of course, personalities are an individual thing so there's always a chance of getting a more active / vocal one.

Have you considered Australorps? Ours was very sweet, calm and quiet. Of course, personalities are an individual thing so there's always a chance of getting a more active / vocal one.

I've heard of them and read online that they have good personalities but I don't trust internet searches especially when it relates to a pet I will own for 10 years or so. Thanks so much for confirming from personal experience!

Where did you get your bantam wyandottes? Did you get them from a hatchery (which hatchery?).

My Phoenix and cornish bantam male's were pretty chill
The females not so much.

My calico princess is calm too, I can generally just walk over amd scoop her up as long as I put her down soon or hold her comfortably

the calmest in our flock is our Jersey Giant. even being the lead hen in the pecking order, she is remarkably kind and laidback. truly a gentle giant! all the orpington varieties seem to be very calm too.. it seems there may be a correlation in temperament with the roundness of the chicken lol

My calmest bird is my easter egger Ginkgo. Even as a chick she just looked very calm and serene, hence her name (she was named for the herb and Ginko from mushishi), turned out not to be a coincidence as she is calm and very friendly
