I got my first flock of chickens in June, 5 adult hens and 5 young brahmas from a friend, but he got the brahmas from another farm as hatching eggs. I can’t find many examples of these three patterns in particular, and would like to know what their names are for future reference. They are about 4 months old now, two are pullets and I think you can guess which one’s a cockerel.
Also, I would like to begin learning about genetics so any reference to which genes are at play here is much appreciated.
Thanks.

Also, is there a reason for the brown in the wings of my other cockerel?

Blue

I was thinking the first one actually looks like a BSO color (blue silver orange), which is a rare project color. I could be wrong, but I looked into getting them once :) very pretty Brahmas.
Never heard of that colour, but the reason I was confused about it was that gold partridge brahmas usually have gold hackles and saddles, you you could be right.
Thanks, I’ll have a look into them.

Thanks! Glad I could help 😊 I was surprised when I came across the color. Its pretty unique! I have someone several hours away from me that breeds them.

I'm a little more unsure of your other Brahmas, but the bottom one is just a blue Brahma with red leakage.

I think after looking maybe one of the pullets is the female bso, but not 100%. Since the bso is duck wing, maybe delta is a female duck wing

Blue silver orange for clarification is a laymans term for blue golden partridge (or maybe blue red silver partridge) and it is partridge, not duckwing based. Thank you for contributing because I have never seen the project before. They are beautiful birds! Also blue silver orange is easier to say. XD

I guess all the names do get complicated so people learn different ones, thanks for clarifying the correct name, I’d like to see a hen of the same colour so I can breed more one day.
