What type of bantams are they?

I have a Sebright who lays eggs as big as her friend the Friesian and a couple of Vorwerks who have just come into lay and are laying eggs smaller than my Sabelpoot's.

You say you check everyday... on the days you find no egg, are there two the next day?

ETA: It takes on average 25 hours for a hen to 'make' an egg from start to finish. You need to also factor in that hens don't lay over night, which leaves you with a practical impossibility for a hen to lay two eggs a day.

It is possible. If she releases two yolks at the same time, you can get a double-yolked egg. If there is less than 24 hours time difference in releasing the yolks, you can get two eggs the same day. It's not as uncommon as some people may think.

When this happens, one egg is often thin-shelled or soft-shelled. The shell gland can only make a certain amount of shell material in a time period and the egg has to spend a lot of time in the shell gland getting the shell material deposited. Sometimes there is not enough difference inthe shell thickness to be obvious, but this is often the cause when people get a soft-shelled egg when they don't expect it. It has nothing to do with how much calcium the hen is getting. It's just that she started a second egg too soon.

Often, they will skip laying an egg the next day when they do this. Not always, but often. It sounds like yours is not laying every day anyway so you probably would not notice.

Another possible reason for this is something as mundane as you did not find the egg the previous day. I've had hens lay just before going on the roost, so it may have something to do with when you look for the eggs.

One of my bantams is a frizzle bantam and my other one is a watermael bantam
But it is my old Rhode island red who is laying twice aday, most of the time she dont lay the day before but we had one day where she laid and perfect egg and the next day she laid a perfect egg and a broken egg?

This is our ex battery hen who is laying two eggs a day!

My to bantams lay once a day, and they both lay white eggs.
It becoming quite a regular thing with my ex battery hen.
What does ISA warren mean?

Its is possible for a hen to lay 2 eggs in one day. I had a duck that did that. She was in the pen with a male - just the 2 of them. In the morning there was her usual 1 egg in the corner. I took it away. In the evening I went to change their water and give them more food - and to my surprise there was another egg!

I have many more ducks now and chickens, but that was the only time I ever had one lay 2 eggs in same 24 hours.
