2 hours ago when I went to turn on the coop light, I saw that one of our ducks was in the nesting box. I was shocked because last night she was in the corner with her mate and flock-sister. It's been dark in there since 9pm last night when I turned the light off.
There's no way for light to shine into the coop.

Are ducks able to see in the dark??

On a general basis, they can see in the dark but have limited visibility. I mention general because in my experience some birds are more tolerable of the dark than others, that can be simply due to genetics, the other factor seems to be associated with how many hours they have been exposed to complete darkness. Wild ducks tend to be more awake at nighttime, and rely on it more - I can say with strong confidence they can see much better.

That makes me feel more sane because the other person who was awake thought I was crazy for suggesting the duck walked all the way to the nesting box in the dark. Luckily after she laid her eggs, it was still clean enough.
It was kind of weird to see her laying at 2am rather than the usual 4am that she's been doing since she started but I was still very happy to collect her egg.
