I had 7 babies hatch yesterday. My very first hatch! I got them from a local breeder who doesn’t show and free ranges all of her birds, so no telling what the color of the parents are. She has mostly silkies, with a silkie mix or two thrown in.

There are 2 that look traditional partridge to me, and one that looks darker partridge and one that looks lighter partridge (no brown stripe but has the black stripes.) There is one tiny black chick, and two chicks that I’m not sure of - one looks yellow with a few dark spots on the head and one is lighter cream colored with grey around shoulders. As far as I know this breeder mostly has partridge with maybe a few black and blue and whites.

The two yellow/creams and the partridge without the brown stripe are the ones I am most curious about! Thanks!

UMSC-chickens, do you think the yellow one with the black spots on head is going to end up white? Thanks for the input! They all look silkie-like to me. Two of them have one foot with 4 toes and one foot with 5 toes. The rest all have five toes. The two cream/yellow ones have pinkish legs but I read somewhere the pigment can come in a bit later... the skin looks black on them. I do feel like at least most of them look like silkies. They just probably won’t turn out to look like the show quality ones.

Kwoodford oh that is helpful! So the one of mine that looks like partridge without the brown stripe might look like your black and white roo? He’s very unique looking. Thanks!

Kwoodford thanks so much, that is extremely helpful! I’m trying to decide whether to re home some now or wait until they grow out. I may have to let them all just grow out to see how they end up.

Yes he's my favorite..... He's more white and silver but he's gorgeous and stands so tall! I ended up with 4 roos and 4 hens.... Not sure if the orange/red color dots mean that... But seems like it... The female is between those male.. She didn't have but one dot... I've heard head dots determine roos in some chickens but I'm not sure. Hadn't been paying much attention to that tbh. Goodluck! Post the adult version maybe you'll have some pretty ones as well! :)
