So, as of 6 pm EST earlier today, it's officially day 28.

It is now 12:10 am and I haven't seen any pips or cracks in the shell yet.

I know it can take up to 30 days, but should I intervene or no? How long should I wait if not? I've heard everything from a few hours to a few days.

Help me out, please. 😭

It's okay to candle eggs any time. Ducks who are setting on eggs get off their nests once or twice a day.

In my experience, the time to worry is if it looks like the duckling is filling up the shell, which usually only happens when the humidity is too high and the egg has not lost enough moisture. Then you can prepare to help. Otherwise, JacinLarkwell is right, waiting is the best action.
