Change of plans

Pics
I've never had a broody hen. I was originally holding out hope one of my girls would go broody this spring and I'd give her eggs or chicks but was too impatient and now I'm brooding these 8 new chicks. So I guess I'm the one that went broody?...
I didn't have one my first year and a half of chicken keeping, but after that it almost seems like a disease 😂 Last year was down right nuts! My OE Onyx went broody like 4 times, one of my English Orps went broody, then all the pullets (5) I added to ensure winter eggs all went broody except 1🤦‍♀️ I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Having a broody is awesome!

I don't even know what to say... both of my Isabel Ameraucanas have crammed themselves into 1 nest box! They are just feeding each others crazy-time!

My gawd....your like a modern day Julia Childs. ♥️

I said all that, to say this...🤣

In case you didn't know, she only used Marans eggs in her recipes. Fun fact...🙂
I used a couple Marans eggs in breakfast, but the bread doesn't have any😉 I didn't know that, but I was just telling my mom yesterday that Marans eggs are considered superior in a lot of places.

Went out to clean and fill waterers and start getting the grow out pen cleaned and ready for the littles. Grabbed some pics of some of the ladies and my handsome boy!
