I have a baby chick that I picked up from a farm last week. I was told it was 2 weeks old, so it would be 3 weeks now. The chick was very lethargic and weak but I got it on Corid and it now seems to feel much better. It had a bit of a watery eye, and it would stay shut a lot, so I have been rinsing with anti-microbial eye wash and I will use a warm wash cloth on it. I believe the chick was sick and on top of that I saw another chick peck her and another chick on a few occasions. Today it is so much worse. I am attaching a picture here. I read on another thread that I could put Terramycin on it, and if I didn’t have that I could try original Neosporin. Terramycin was not in stock at my Tractor Supply so I put Neosporin on it. I almost think it may be more swollen now. I’m thinking it may need to be drained but I’m not sure how to help the chick. The chick will also continue taking Corid for 2 more days so I don’t think antibiotics are really an option yet. I have called dozens of vets and most don’t deal with chickens or said I would have to bring the chick in, but I’m hours away. Does anyone have any idea what I can do for this chick? I feel so bad for it and I appreciate any help!!
