chick is too loud

Chicks are only loud when they need something. Assuming they have enough food and clean water, usually the temperature isn't right when they call out continuously. Are they all huddled together? What heat source are you using and how old are the chicks by the way?

this one is isolated because only one hatched. It's 3 days old and the temperature is 99 degrees. They have food and water.

You need to get it a companion of similar age, or at least a mirror so it feels that it has a companion. A lonely chick will call for others, as they're not meant to be alone.

99 degrees is too hot IMO, I'd drop it at least 5 degrees, if not more. Do it gradually. The heat may also be causing it distress.

There's your answer. It's lonely. Under natural circumstances, a solo chick would not survive. Yours needs a "friend." We gave our solo Silkie a Mompom - a very large pompom designed for a school backpack. He snuggled in with that until he was well over weaning age, then he hauled it all over the house. Yes, the house. Herman started his life as a House Rooster!

If you have a single chick cheeping then it is lonely and will take a long time to get used to that and be quiet.
Agree that 99 may be too hot, especially if the whole brooder is that temperature. Ideally there should be a corner or space that is around 95 and then areas that are much cooler.

I am looking for a mirror, I gave it a ping pong ball and a mini cat plushy. It is kicking the ball around and cuddling but is still being loud.
