I just put them on Tylosin water soluble powder, 1 teaspoon/ gallon x 7 days, just started today. Is there anything else I should be doing for them? They just got done with Corid for bloody stools. It seems like if it's not one thing it's another with this group of girls.

ETA: one of the littles is gasping with her mouth open upon inspiration. I listened with my stethoscope and heard intermittent crackles. Also, all are eating, drinking, and active (digging, playing, jumping).

Hi,

I'd also be giving them Poultry Cell in their water every other day. A vitamin boost will most likely help them when they're down.

After you've finished the 7 days of antibiotic, be sure to give them probiotics for a week or two too.

Hopefully, they'll get better and stay better!

Thank you so much for your help! The poultry cell arrived today and I have probiotics waiting to be started.

Is it ok to have both poultry cell and Tylan in the water?

Where did you get these chicks—hatch them, a breeder, swap meet or sale, feed store or hatchery? Have you seen any swollen or watery eyes? Tylosin is normally given for 3-5 days to treat MG in chickens.

Hi @Eggcessive I got them from a feed store. No swollen or watery eyes, but lots of wet sneezing, they seemed sleepy, but they are doing better now. Should I stop the tylan tomorrow? It will have been 4 days.

I would stop after 5 days. Hopefully, they don’t have a respiratory disease since they came from a hatchery and feed store. It would more likely just be from their bedding or water spills plus poop and feed that could be irritating their nostrils and lungs. Let us know how they get along.

Thank you, @Eggcessive. I was just worried when one of the girls appeared to be gasping and sneezing, but she's much better now.
We switched them from pine to aspen shavings prior to this because I was worried about the dusty pine.
