I have 10 bielefelder chicks that are approx. 3 weeks old. They are in a brooder in my house. I was in the room with them checking everyone out, all were fine, and came back about 20 minutes later and the other 9 chicks were laying on top of one of them. When i picked her up she was gasping and extending her neck over and over. I removed her and put her by herself with her own heat, food, and water with electrolytes. She has been eating and drank some. That was around 12. Shes still gasping, extending her neck, and is uneasy on her feet. Ive had plenty of chicks but never had any issues other than pasty butt here and there so i’m not sure what to do for her or what it could be.

Is she coughing at all? She might have something stuck in her throat. What kind of bedding do you have? Have they been given anything but their chick crumbles? Hopefully, with her eating and drinking, she should be able to pass it down.

If you have any vitamins for their water, like NutraDrench or Poultry Cell, I'd at least give her a little of one of those too, in with the electrolyte water.

No coughing. She’s not making any noise when opening her mouth like that. She does still cheep every now and then. They have pine flake bedding. They haven't had any anything else other than their starter crumble.
i tried to look in her mouth the best i could but didnt see anything.

Then I'm not too sure what it could be other than something stuck in her throat. Try massaging her throat and neck real lightly. You probably wouldn't feel anything but that might cause it to move.
