Chick with deformed leg (not a huge emergency)!!!!!!

Hello guys!!!

I picked this chick up last night from my neighbors because I figured I could try and help this little one! His leg is messed up bad, I was wondering if when shipping he was stepped on and the other chicks broke his leg and now it’s healing all weird? He is about two days old and is a D’uccle Bantam! Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!!!

The little chick! He’s beautiful and I am in love with him (or her)!!!

Yes he can!! He can even “run”!! When he runs he hops fast and flaps his wings, it’s so cute!

Have you looked to see if it has a slipped tendon? This looks a lot like that. You should be able to feel the tendon on one side or the other of the hock joint. Here is a link about it and treating it. It can't always be fixed.

She is doing great!! I unfortunately wasn’t able to treat her leg, but it doesn’t bother her at all, so I am grateful for that!!

That is too bad you weren't able to treat it's leg, however that is great it is doing well!
