Chicken behavior and eggs

I have eight pullets who have not started laying yet, but it is winter where I’m at.

Then I have a older hen that I adopted from someone else. She has been laying eggs almost every day in the same spot.

A few days ago I hear the older hen going crazy squawking inside the main Coop for about 20 minutes. I come home that evening and there are two eggs in the coop but not in her usual space. One looks like her normal egg and the other one looks like a little small egg. So I’m thinking did one of the pullets start laying or did she have two eggs?. And why is she not laying in the same space as usual?

Then there were no eggs for a few days and then yesterday I find a little brown egg in a secondary Coop and a bit after that I find my adopted older chicken eating what looks like one of her eggs that must have cracked and frozen. But she’s also in the secondary coop.

So I’m wondering why has she switched locations. I guess it has to do with the other chicken laying an egg? Also the fake egg I had in the main coop wasn’t there anymore-I found it out in the run.

First time chicken keeper….so many things to learn. What do you think?

More than likely, yes.
As to location of the eggs<shrugs> they can be fickle.
