Here is a video of me constructing the simple chicken coop that I built for our chickens. It is a simple split level design, basically a elongated triangle. The nest boxes and perches are in the upper part with the door in the floor. We have a very limited amount of space which is why we went for the raised design allowing the chickens to walk around underneath it.

Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

Wish I could move that fast. LOL

I watched your video series a while back now, and I am wondering whats your updated progress on your whole project? I am a big fan of the whole idea of being self sustainable as well. Im assuming the chickens are doing well and good? and the garden progress?

I think it was mostly pine. It was all new but left over from a much larger building project that my parents had recently completed at their house. So it was very cheap and good to use leftovers.

Great I am glad you are already aware of our work on YouTube. As you will see the last few videos were to do with what i did on a recent trip to visit my cousins farm in Paraguay. I have a couple more videos to upload from that trip and then I will be doing some new videos.

It has been great to make the videos we did and to cover every step of the way. However, circumstance got the better of us to an extent which is why it has been a long time since a real update. There have been some big changes and things are different now but there will be new videos soon.

Here is what I am planning to do over the next couple of weeks.
Complete the blog, adding in all the best videos and giving some extra supporting content.
Finish the final videos from the Paraguay trip.
Get a new camera, something more portable and better quality, I am thinking a (Kodak Zx1)
Make an update video explaining what has happened between the last video and now.
Continue to make new videos
I have been interested in keeping bees as well for a while and I might get the opportunity soon so you might see some videos about that too.

Thanks for watching

I had been playing with the idea of bee keeping as well! I would be pretty keen on seeing some updates as to the whole project.
