We have a chicken (6months old) that seems to staggering inconsistently, and we can’t figure out why. It started abruptly but she will be fine running around one minute and then all of the sudden she seems off balance and starts falling to one side. She literally appears drunk and then ends up on her side or even back.
She’s eating and drinking and doesn’t appear hurt. It almost looks neurological? But it came out of no where this weekend. We tried giving vitamins, eggs, yogurt etc in case it’s a deficiency but doesn’t seem to be getting better ( or worse).
Has anyone experienced this?

I can’t seem to attach a video but she will be walking normally and then suddenly accelerate to the right trying to keep herself from falling over (but eventually does).

At her age Mareks could be a problem. I had an older hen who did that. She had to be confined for 5 weeks to a nest box and I had to feed her twice a day, food, water, vitamins, etc. She eventually recovered. She had been vaccinated for Mareks, and did not have it. So I would give vitamin E 400 IU and a little B complex 1/4 tablet daily while making sure that she is getting enough to eat. Al’s make sure that the others are not picking on her. She probably needs to be separated inside a dog crate with her own food and water.
