I can’t seem to figure out the disease my Langshan had. She just had a brood of chicks a couple months before, and went broody again for a week. She seemed fine for another week, the only thing I noticed is she was sleeping on the ground, and not on the roost, two days before she died. Last night I picked her up to put her away, she started choking on phlegm and did a death flap and died in like 10 seconds. I saw this happen once when I was a kid, with a little polish rooster who was a little droopy, I touched him to see if he was ok, phlegm, death flap, dead. All my other hens seem healthy. I know being broody must have lowered her immune system. New castle, fowl cholera, probably not sour crop, none of these match 100%. Any ideas?
