My three year old hen was just re-introduced back to the flock about a week ago after being away for 7 days healing. She was lethargic, her tail was dropped, was dehydrated, wouldn't drink or eat, had diarrhea, wouldn't make any noise, and her comb was dry. She was also acting as if she were trying to get something out of her throat, raising her beak and opening her mouth (gagging motion) and sometimes (i noticed after she ate or drank more than she was used to at the time) she would throw up a clear mucusy fluid. We gave her antibiotics and brought her inside away from the rest of the flock. She was doing remarkably better and acting her normal self, but her comb was still pretty dry. She finished her antibiotics so we put her with the rest of the chickens, and she was so happy (the cutest thing ever!) First thing she did was give herself a long dirt bath
Anyway, she was doing better until about two days ago she started losing interest in her favorite snacks and her comb looks awful- it's darker than usual, very dry, and it looks very weak and droopy. I just went to check on her and after she drank some water and ate a couple bites of her food, she threw up a clear mucus liquid again. She's been eating and drinking just fine, but now she won't come out of the hen house. She doesn't want to be around the other chickens or walk around at all. Please help! I don't know what to treat her for, my brain is smushed
