My Australorp girl has the same problem, it appeared 3 days ago OVERNIGHT - well w/in 15 hrs anyway...
She's my sweety - tame as can be of course - she's been in the house before b/c LAST TIME months ago when all my chickens had respitory infections: her nose was runny & she was kinda gargly & then eventually her eye swelled up - but she & all the others got better fairly quickly b/c we put them all on LA 200.
This time I've had her on Tylan 50 1cc for the last 2 nights - there wasn't much change so tonight I cleaned out her ears with vinegar & alcohol just in case it was mites or some kind of bug infestation...not sure if she got stung or not but it was like 80 degrees the day before this showed up & there were bees/wasps out, although its now like 40's-50's....I hope she gets better by tomorrow.....
