I've been reading this thread regarding the purchasing of chickens from Chickens Galore and Dare to Dream. It's good info. . I'm going to be going to check out both. I'm ready to start my chicken daddy roll w/5. What breeds would you recommend for a 1st timer??
I really like the R.I.Reds, Orrington, Copper Marans, Brahma. Large/thick chickens.
Alot is said about free ranging or to contained in the run.
I don't think I'm going to free range because my backyard is all dirt and I have a sml dog wired terrier that will probably chase them unless I'm standing guard . I have alot more??, but can I get feedback on this thread 1st Thank You

I am not replying to any of the above post just wanted to post on here that I am selling fertile eggs, they are not purebreds the rooster is a rhode island red/buff orphington I do have pure red hens and buff hens I also have pure silver lace whynodetts and barrd rocks, this rooster breeds to all of them and I have had some pretty interesting mixes I love them. some are born blk and are now turning red they are blk on there backs with red chest and wings they really kinda pretty I think I will call them the red rocks, and my red and buff babies are at least 3 qrt of there breed. please let me know if interested I am located in chino, ca I will not ship eggs but can meet for drop offs. thank you and Happy Chicken farming to everyone.

I've purchased 3 chickens from Russell and highly recommend him. After our last purchase, where I dealt with one of the younger helpers who sold us two Marans that were younger than we had asked for, Russell happily took the one that turned out to be a roo and exchanged him for a hen around the age we wanted. Good selection of breeds and ages. He has a day job during the week, so call first.

What is the average price for a chicken from this location??
