cleaning pus in chicken eye

A while back, me and my mom got a chicken from a farm we volunteer at because the flock would not stop bullying her and they pecked her eye out. After she settled in with us there was pus coming out of where her eye was and a very bad smell coming from her.

Nothing else is weird about her, she acts like my other chickens and her poop looks normal

I'm really new to dealing with injuries like this and really wanna know what I should use to clean and disinfect the eye, and if I should take any further action like antibiotics just in case she has a bad infection

I'd rinse it with saline. @azygous

You can use saline or an eye wash such as Bausch and Lomb Eye Relief Eye Wash from the eye drops aisle at most Walmart or pharmacies. Then try to remove any pus with tweezers or QTips while someone holds her wrapped in a towel. Terramycin or plain Neosporin ointment can be applied into the eye twice a day after cleaning. Pus removal may take a few attempts.
