My chicks had diarrhea and abnormally smelly poo and one of them seems really tired, so i decide to treat the chicks for cocci (they dont sell corid here but it has amprolium in it). after a week the chick was getting better and no more diarrhea but the chick didn't seem to be fully well. i had left the city for a week (had someone take care of the chicks) and when i came back the chick once again sleepy and now the others poops are bleeding. well i decided to treat them for it again and the tired chick has now perked up but the bloody poop did not stop (this is day 7).
At this time i decided to change their feed as after i switched to this feed i had lost 3x more chicks than usual, some not growing, can't poop, sometimes just sudden death. The chicks also feathered much slower. Well i decided to switch thsese batch of chicks back yesterday and this morning i haven't seen any bloody poop. im not sure which one is causing this. should i do a second dose of amprolium just in case?
More info on the chicks:
- had never been outside
- age: 5-7 weeks old

Please post some photos of the poop.

Where are you located in the world?
What product and dose are you using for treatment?

What are you feeding? Did you notice any mold or off smell in the new feed?
no more bloody poop today, but yesterday morning i smeared it on some tissue and there was definately blood still. i will post if some come up again.

I live in indonesia
I am using a product named Therapy, each gram has:
100 mg oxytetracycline HCL
50 mg Amprolium
said it should help with cocci and CRD

It is the only product (ive seen) for cocci with amprolium in it as corid has the same thing in it so i thought it would be somewhat simillar. there is a product with sodium sulfaquinoxaline here too would that be better?

The old food had no weird smell and i buy in tiny 500 gram packages and all the batches seem the same.

That doesn't look like cocci poop to me.
Is it very hot? are they drinking alot?
no they are living in my work room and it has an aquarium there so i need to keep the temperature pretty low to keep the water temp constant. its 24C-26C or 75.5F - 78F. I stay mostly in this room so i need it in a comfortable range. yes a lot of fresh water, i change it out 3-4 times a day as shavings get in it a lot and i don't want any cocci in the water. The heating i am using is a heat plate (ecoglow brinsea). Which they don't use much now unless they are sleeping.

I would recommend u to use manna pro gamebird feed. You don’t need to put a heat lamp after they are over 4 weeks.I have a batch and they are 3 weeks and they avoid the heat bulb and snuggle in a corner away from the bulb even. Though the bulb has only 20 wattage.I’ll remove it by 4 weeks.

Ohh i see, well my brahma chick is still featherless (only head and wings) is it still okay to take it out? And for the feed, i am unable to get those here unless i import some with hundreds of dollars of tax unfortunately.

Oh I’m so sorry, please take it to the emergencies if the droppings get worse.
Good luck!

You may still need some heat from the Brinsea if the chick has no feathers. The ones who are feathered should not. Try to give your chicks some probiotics and vitamins after the Corid has finished. When treating with amprollium, you can treat them for 5 to 7 days at maximum dose, and then give a weaker dose for an additional 5 days, then use probiotics and vitamins if that makes since. The antibiotic in the amprollium could be helpful to treat for secondary infections or enteritis. Probiotics are always good after antibiotics. I hope the chicks recover and don’t suffer intestinal damage.
