Hello all!
After our incubator mishap, we thoroughly cleaned and calibrated it, and added in some duck eggs. They seem to be doing well. As far as chickens go, our hen decided to go broody so we let her keep a few of her eggs (and added some duck eggs as well). Her two little chicks hatched last night/this morning, and today after work finally got some good pictures. Hen was sold to me as a blue laced red Wyandotte (hatchery stock) but to me looks like a golden laced Wyandotte. Dad is a blue copper maran. One baby is grey like Dad, and the other a dirty yellow- almost grey/green. Anyone know color genetics/possible outcomes for this cross? I'd love to have a guess of what they'll grow out like! Either way, mama and babies are doing well, I placed a very shallow dish of water and some food in their area, and she is diligently sitting on the duck eggs still (we will add to incubator with others if she leaves the nest).
