Hi there. I built this coop a few years back. We have a new group of 7 hens and two ducks living in here. I added another 4x4ish covered section to the right. It is now about 4x12ft footprint, with the elevated coop measuring approx. 3x3.5ft. My question is, will my ducks need (or will I/they benefit from) their own house attached to this run?
I am thinking of basically building another box a ground level off the back of the coop and cutting away some of the wire and securing the box to the frame. That way they have a dedicated nesting area (with straw and such) that I can access through a flip-up roof or a door in back in order to get the eggs and clean it out without entering the run, much like the coop door and nesting boxes in this design.
Thoughts, comments, etc, please.
I can post additional photos of my actual coop, in situ, tomorrow.
