Corid questions

Treating my six, one month old chicks for coccidia with corid. I saw one bloody stool yesterday morning (it didn't look like intestinal shedding) it was a little pool of blood around a regular stool. I'm dosing thier water with corid to be on the safe side. My question is if I mix a gallon of water with the corid and fill thier 1.5qt water jug. Do I need to remix a new gallon the next day or can I continue to use the gallon I have mixed?
Does corid break down in water over time? If so... why?
Chicks have been going through a gallon of water in about 3 days.
If I do have to remix everyday I'm just going to do the math and dose the water jug instead of the whole gallon to save the medicine. Thanks in advance!

I've used a gallon over two days and still had it be effective. I have absolutely no information on keeping it beyond that, but haven't wanted to take the chance. The real keys are making sure they have no other water sources until the treatment is over, finishing the full five-day treatment and not giving them vitamins (not even medicated feed) during the Corid treatment.
I've also found that dosing them with a good multi-vitamin AFTER the Corid treatment is completed helps a lot. Corid works by depriving the coccidia of Vitamin B. Unfortunately, the chicks need it, too. Giving them a vitamin afterwards can keep them from crashing.

Yes ! Thank you i did switch them off a medicated feed I was giving them until I got corid. It is they're only water souce.... do probiotics I dissolve in their wayer count as vitamins? I might of screwed up there.... will remix a new batch tomorrow to be safe. And have read vitamins after the treatment is beneficial

Many poultry probiotics contain vitamins, especially B-complex. So, yes, I would discontinue them during treatment, as they counteract amprolium - Corid's active ingredient..

Corid also come in a liquid, so it is okay to use the same gallon for 3 days. I would just fill their waterer with the gallon mixture as they drink it. The main reason we recommend changing it daily, is to provide clean medicated water that has not been contaminated with poop or droppings. Raise the waterer to should height.

Thankyou! Yes I've been very diligent about keeping thier water clean. I have the liquid version of corid.
