First time chick owner here so pardon my lack of knowledge.

We got 6 chicks about 10 days ago so not sure of their actual age, but I noticed a couple days ago one had an enlarged crop that stayed that size for 2 days. Upon doing some Google research we bought some chick grit and seperated her without food overnight. The crop did go down so we put her back in with the others. But later that day it was enlarged again (although not quite as big as before).

So we seperated her again and gave her small amounts of food 3 times a day, but upon reading similar threads on here could the large crop just be normal? She has always acted completely normal; eating, pooping, active. When her crop is large it is firm. She also doesn't seem to be growing as quickly as the others, being the smallest one of the group. Any help and advice would be much appreciated!

Welcome To BYC

If the crop is going down, that's good.

When she eats/drinks, the crop should fill up so what you are seeing I believe is normal.
Some chicks really eat quite a bit and have a full crop. If she's active, seems happy and is interacting with the others, I'd just keep an eye on her.

The chick beside her in the photo, imho is older than she is, so this would account for the size difference. Also, when you have various breeds within a group, they can grow at different rates.

Cute Chicks! Congratulations.
