Our flock has two lovely crossbeaks! The slightly more timid Applesauce who is happy to let her sister be the boss and once ate so much scratch that she had to fast a day to clear her crop. And Mary Sanderson, who is the bossiest bird in the coop. No matter what time you show up to feed her you are late! The other hens are lucky she can't peck them, because they are all obstacles to her best life.
