I am at dentist now. Will let you all know how it goes. LOL so far they have taken one X-ray of the tooth (teeth? Idk) in question and I am waiting for the doctor now I think LOL
 
So they took an x ray of the problem tooth and then the doctor came in after a bit. He said it looks like one of my teeth has inflamed nerves and that was the cause of the pain and said it was good I came in LOL he referred me to a specialist for root canal therapy although idk why they can’t do the root canal there???? I’ve had other root canals done there before… but I think this specialist does microscopic root canals which are different I guess. Idk. Anyways, this specialist is like 30 mins away from my house… then again my regular dentist (the one I saw today) is 15-20 mins away. So not THAT much further LOL but still… and I hope to GOD they take my insurance or else I’m freaking screwed… I’m assuming they do since he asked me what insurance I have before going and writing it but still… they might just have a partnership with this place… the referral slip has this place’s name and info etc. on it sooooo… idk. LOL he also said to call today but after he left the receptionist was like “that might be kind of hard to call today because they close at 12 today so they’re only open a few more minutes (it was 11:57) and they’re closed tomorrow. They’re only open a few days.” I Googled it and they are open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, but Thursday is only 8-12. The other days are normal hours LOL 9-6. Sooooooo… I guess I will wait till Tuesday to call now LOL but if they don’t take my insurance, I’m SCREWED because I’m not going to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket or even hundreds so I will just have to live with the pain. It’s already getting somewhat better but still. This sucks.

So sorry. That's a long time to wait. I also answered this on the other thread. 😁 I'm glad the pain is less, but it will get worse. You won't be able to ignore this.
 
I wish you the best. I had an "emergency" root canal two years ago from months of excruciating pain. I couldn't take it anymore and went to my dentist who sent me to the endodontist for a second opinion who immediately right then and there performed a root canal. In hindsight, I should have followed my instinct and ran as fast as possible out of there when she said I needed it immediately. It was the root canal from hell. I am still in pain to this day up to and including my jaw and suffer with daily headaches as a result -- minus the nerves of course from the root canal. Then there's the cap you need to have put on to cover the dead tooth. I should have just tied a string to my tooth on one end and a door knob on the other end and pulled it myself. I would have been better off. I don't recall what I paid but I know it was in the thousands - no dental insurance.
I hope your experience is better than mine.

That is a terrible experience!!! I'm so sorry you had to go through that! :hugs As someone who has had several root canals and a couple extremely painful ones, I truly sympathize.

I had some very bad dental work done when I was a very young child. Mom said it was when I was 4, but I'm thinking more like 6. IDK for sure. Anyway, a dentist filled teeth without sanitizing first and my whole mouth broke out in abscesses. I had problems with my teeth ever since. Had to have the permanent molars pulled almost as soon as they came in because of it. Had partials for years, but now I have implants back there where the molars were. Every dentist I ever went to assumed I didn't take care of my teeth. Very sad. Well, it's all good now. Just wanted to express my sympathy to all of you with any sort of tooth problems, especially the need for root canals. :hugs ❤️
 
Wow, you've had a lifetime of issues and your fair share for sure. I've thought about have them all removed and replaced with implants but that's sounds unnecessary and super expensive (not to mention painful). I'll keep what the good Lord gave me and deal with whatever comes up when it does.
