Began making the door for the chicken coop on Wednesday. Almost done with it. Slab of osb to go behind it to seamlessly made from the door cut out during the sheathing process. I think my backyardigans would be very pleased with the aesthetics.

Doors are heavy and can get wonky, I think all those cross supports are an excellent way to keep the door from warping. I like it!
Indeed. I think the 1x4 framing will do great weight wise and the board on the back will be the end all for strength. But I do like the aesthetics looks of it while I played around with my mitre saw making the 45 degree cuts

It looks cool, for sure!
Not sure it makes structural sense tho.
Might want to use a good plywood instead of OSB to keep it flat.
Heavy on the looks. Probably doesn't make structural sense. I think I will go with the plywood. Thanks for that insight. I thought to use the cut out but the plywood will defintely make much better sense.

1. Is doggy wearing a tool vest?

2. There are lots of pictures of the frame, did you mean to add ones of the finished door?

We, also, have made doors. Our craftmanship is not quite up to your level though. Some wonky doors we have to adjust the doorway to fit 😋
Haha she is not done. Just the frame. I appreciate your kind words on the craftsmanship 🤣. I have been doing more and more projects lately with my kreg pocket hole jig. Many more projects to have fun with. Marley man is wearing a Ruffwear Web Master Reflective Dog Harness, in Blaze Orange. He is every but as helpful as he looks in comparison to his napping 🤣.

Your design is similar to the doors my hubby made in my coop. Very sturdy and stiff!
