Not sure this is the right category for this but I wanted to share our DIY brooder! The property we own looked like a hippy commune dump ground when we bought it. There was random junk everywhere and a little 2 room A-frame cabin that needs A LOT of TLC so ignore the mess and the graffiti on the wall! It's basically our shed/storage now.
We took an old bathtub we found on the property and put it in the "bathroom" in the A-frame! My bf built a lid for it and we wedged a glass door in the doorframe so we could check on them without disturbing them and keep the predators out. It has worked wonderfully! The chicks in the pics are the 2nd set of babies we've raised in it!
Just wanted to throw the idea out there! You can find old bathtubs for sale cheap or even free at dump sites! The price of everything is so dang high these days, saving a penny when you can is a must! Happy hatching!
