I have a 2 week old Black Sex Link baby. She is only 14 days old and is almost all the way feathered out. Her tail is in and her wing feathers are in. She just needs her head feathers. I know hens usually feather out first and really fast. The thing that has me worried is her huge feet. Do the feet have anything to do with the gender?

I've heard a million old wives' tales about gender, but never anything about feet.

If you post a picture of her, I'm usre there is someone who can help.

There is many odd ways to determine gender.

I've never seen a full grown Black Sex link hen so I'm not sure if the hens have big feet like the roosters do.

I can't post pictures until about a month. My phone is down

I have two RIRs and as a chick one had HUGE feet compared to the other one (and compared to the 5 black australorps too). For a long time, I worried that meant it was a roo, but she's grown up to be an egg-laying hen. So in my very small sample size of 7, feet size didn't seem to matter.

Yep. Really. If as a chick she had no white spot on her head, it was all black like this

and if now she's black with gold, then I'm pretty sure she's a pullet.
