This baby made it to 23 days but now I'm wondering if it didn't survive because it was a double Yolker?

Relax. I didn't kill it. I left it in the incubator until day 31 and there was no movement after day 23. We were just curious if it could have been a double yolker and been compromised because of that

How come it has big healthy blood vessels and it looks fine ?
Seems like it was still alive before you cracked it open

I don't know. But I can promise you it was not alive. There was no movement, no growth for 8 days, and seems very unrealistic that at 31 days, 3 days after its sibling zipped, that it would only be that far along in the process.

If you did wait 31 days, then yes I believe that this duckling probably wouldn't have made it. Especially since the yolk is so big! The yolk is pretty big, and it should've been absorbed more. Sorry for the ducky, but better luck next time!

That's okay. Because the yolk was so big and looks like it might have a clear division we were thinking it was possible it was a double Yolk and maybe a bacteria from the undeveloped yolk could have killed it. We for sure waited 31 days,maybe even 33, because I was too paranoid about killing it if it had a chance. After that and no noticeable movement, development, pips, or rearrangement inside the egg, I was confident it didn't make it before I decided to open it.

That's a really nasty color underneath that yolk. When I did my eggtopsies there was no brown liquid like that whatsoever. I don't know what it could be though. I wonder if it was just a huge yolk and was too much for baby to handle?

Yeah I'm assuming the brown was just decay from duck being in incubator for 8 days after it passed away.
