I am impressed with how strong these birds actually are. Good job to you for taking care of her. Most people I know would have well you know…..

She's a rather tenacious little bantam...Last year I had to save a hawk from her that she'd pinned in the corner of the coop and was actively stomping into the groundI am impressed with how strong these birds actually are. Gotta take care of my little dinosaurs :]Amazing work to save her! I swear if one of ours limps a little it dies, and here you are making part of a chicken into a whole chicken again!![]()
I've heard Baytril (Enrofloxacin) is bitter (someone here on BYC tasted it), so it may really be horridVery vocal this morning about the horrors of "having to take medicine" lol
Yeah, that checks out...on account of all the screeching and flailing. In other news a little bit of the main scab has partially detached (happened at the vet, maybe due to the iodine scrub that was mentioned?). But she's starting to grow back feathers on the plucked skin!I've heard Baytril (Enrofloxacin) is bitter (someone here on BYC tasted it), so it may really be horrid![]()

From this morning: the current detached piece (the one on the thigh fell off). You can see the new skin on her thigh in the middle pic! Wound is gradually getting smaller
Covered in pin feathers galore, she's even growing her big turkey tail feathers back now
You are doing a fantastic job caring for her! She is very lucky.View attachment 4073117View attachment 4073118View attachment 4073119
