Dog thread!🐾

I jinxed myself hahahaha yesterday I let him out and there was a squirrel. He chased it which normally would be fine especially since he first went right, towards the fenced part of the yard. Well, then the squirrel must have changed direction or something because all of a sudden he’s zooming left down the bottom of the yard along the fence line and then he’s GONE! Into the neighbors yard, behind their shed or something, totally out of sight. So I of course open the door and shout Brewster, no!!!!! And then run and grab the remote for his e collar which he thankfully had on. I should have had the remote in hand or called him back before he left but it happened so fast I didn’t get a chance to and he also usually NEVER leaves the property like that at least not recently or with me watching him. Even chasing a squirrel on that side. He always stops at the tree line and trees them LOL this one must have been stupid and kept running or something. 🤣😭 ANYWAYS! I hit the vibrate button and sure enough after like a minute or less, he comes running back into the yard. But not directly to me. He got really close to me and then stopped to pee first. 🙄 but I allowed it because AT LEAST HE CAME BACK!!!!!!!! Now, what I am not sure of is if he came back because of me recalling or if he was just done chasing the squirrel anyways. Because he normally always comes back from chasing squirrels anyways. But this time I’m not sure if he would have. And thank God nobody was walking by with a dog or anything cause their property goes right out to the road. 😭 but HE CAME BACK!!!!!! So technically he is still a good boy LOL some of my friends dogs would all be GONE.

Something is going on with Denver. So last week Wed i had took her outside snd she was hesitant to go out but did. Then Fri she went outside but tripped over the step it was dark but i had a light. Also Friday night, she went to come from upstairs down and once she got to the middle of the stairs she stopped and i had to go lead her down. Then the past few nights the same way as it gets dark she had to be guided. And i think it was Thursday night we were in the living room and it wasnt super dark there was a light on, but where she was laying it was darker, Tucker walked about 5 feet in front of her and she growled at him, she did have a toy but she never growls at him especially him being so far away.
First call to the vet they couldnt get her in until later this week, which is something i dont like waiting for especially if its her eyesight. But they wanted us to watch her closely and see if she will guide herself through a dark room she knows, she wont without help. Once its dark she stays in the same spot, until 5 a.m when she goes downstairs or gets up because of lights being turned on(she chooses where she sleeps).

Its making me think a start of Progressive Retinal Atrophy which i sure hope not. But the first start is night blindness.

Poor guy. Make sure to always run a tick test. Mine are all flaring up lately. Hopefully it's nothing serious. :hugs
